The Equine
Sciences curriculum provides the flexibility of two concentrations
(industry and science) that focus on different career objectives
while maintaining a rigorous biological science-oriented core curriculum.
Within the B. W. Pickett Equine Center are faculty and staff offices,
an indoor arena with concession stands, ticket booths, and seating
for 2,000. During an average week, the arena is primarily used to
teach English and Western riding, with about 200 student participants
each semester. On weekends it serves as host to various groups including
horse shows, rodeos, and public exhibitions.
