The Engineering Research
Center is a 110,000 sq. ft. research facility supporting faculty and student
projects in civil,
electrical,
mechanical
and chemical
and bioresource engineering. Research topics include hydraulics, wind engineering,
lasers, solar energy, and ion propulsion for space applications, just to name
a few. Projects are supported by a central fabrication facility and many indoor
laboratories, including a large hydraulics laboratory, several wind tunnels,
and a multi-acre outdoor hydraulics research laboratory supplied by water from
nearby Horsetooth Reservoir.
