The Engineering Research Center is a 110,000 sq. ft. research facility supporting faculty and student projects in civil, electrical, mechanical and chemical and bioresource engineering. Research topics include hydraulics, wind engineering, lasers, solar energy, and ion propulsion for space applications, just to name a few. Projects are supported by a central fabrication facility and many indoor laboratories, including a large hydraulics laboratory, several wind tunnels, and a multi-acre outdoor hydraulics research laboratory supplied by water from nearby Horsetooth Reservoir.
